Finally trying to get over porn

This is great! Now get uncomfortably direct with God about your dirty thoughts. Confess as soon as you have them, in detail without glorifying it, and ask Jesus to help you.

Deleting a file on the computer is a hard, but good first step. Harder still is deleting the files in your head. It’s impossible actually without a miracle, and that probably won’t happen. But this is good because you’ve got a chance to grow closer to God as you work through this together. God does not condemn you. God will use this to teach you how much He loves you. He will prove it as you give every thought to Him. Don’t be ashamed of who you are because God accepts you right now as you are. But because He loves you He won’t leave where you are. Trust Him enough to trust Him with everything, especially the things you are most ashamed of. God already implies and loves you still so much more than you can imagine.

If you haven’t already tell God what yout did, exactly as you told us, and tell him what you want to do and ask for His help. Do this every day and night as needed. And also every time you get a bad thought. If you fall, as soon as you can bear it, that day, that hour, turn back. Admit it, ask for forgiveness, and recommit. You don’t have to feel something to repent. Sometimes those come later. Just be willing to agree with God that it is wrong. You already believe this in your heart. Your mind may try to come up with exscuses and justifying arguments, but ignore it. You know the truth.

Cling to that truth. Cling to Jesus.
